PMU officials of al-Tufoof Brigade, affiliated to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, visited recently liberated churches in al-Hemdanya district – Southeast Mosul.
Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Prophet Isa (Jesus), the volunteer soldiers restored what the so-called Islamic State terrorists had destroyed.
Al-Tufoof Brigade Commander Qasim Muslih confirmed that ISIS had used one of the churches for their militants’ training.
During the visit, the brigade also provided the residents of the district with humanitarian aid, according to the directives of the Islamic Supreme Religious Authority.
ISIS is on the verge of defeat as the Iraqi Army and the PMU have advanced into the last stronghold of the terror group. The Iraqi Army and the PMU are restoring all the places of worship demolished by ISIS including mosques and churches.
