The International Media Center of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has released a new publication named, ‘Iraq’s Holy Shrines in the Ottoman-Persian Relations’, a second publication consisting of recovered documents from the Ottoman Archive Center in Turkey.

Head of the International Media Center’s Turkish publications Sabah al-Taliqani said, “Under the guidance and care of the Media Department in Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, work to compile and translate the Ottoman documents related to Karbala and the holy shrines continues. The translation of this new release was volunteered by the head of Turkish Language Department at Kufa University, Dr. Amir al-Khalidi.”

“The translated documents in this publication vary from religious, administrative, social, financial and legal documents within the relations between the Safavid and Ottoman Empires,” added al-Taliqani.

The first publication, issued last year, was titled ‘Karbala in the Ottoman Documents’.

The International Media Center releases various publications alongside its magazines in seven different languages.
