Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey welcomed a UNICEF envoy at his office in Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.
The special visit came to open new horizons of cooperation in all that is associated with the Iraqi children and youth insuring their human rights that have been violated by ISIS terrorists.
“We value the care for the youth and children provided by the holy shrine and the religious authority. We are willing to exchange ideas and experiences through the offer by the holy shrine to open horizons of cooperation to examine the abuse of children in criminal acts, attempting to eliminate them,” said the envoy.
He also praised the humanitarian role of the holy shrine and expressed his interest in the humanitarian projects including the hospitals, cultural centers and orphanages as well as shelters for displaced people.
