Commander of al-Tufoof Brigade, affiliated to the PMU, confirmed that the PMU forces have liberated areas that were occupied by terrorists groups since 2003, commending the role of the PMU’s Media Directorate for transmitting and covering the victories.

Qasem Muslih said in a statement, “The PMU forces were able to liberate large areas measuring thousands of kilometers in west Mosul that were occupied since 2003 by terrorist gangs.”

Muslih noted the importance of the presence of war journalists alongside the fighters to cover their victories while confronting a fierce media attack by the external media, saying, "Half of the battle is media and there are unknown fighters conveying the humanitarian efforts provided by them to the people of liberated areas, according to the Supreme Religious Authority’s directives."

“The Popular Mobilization Units are part of the people, therefore, the people must know their organization, capabilities, efficiency, readiness and development, and be aware of the dangers and challenges surrounding the war media, especially with the hastened pace of liberation of areas occupied by ISIS,” added Muslih.
