A delegation consisting of UK’s top Shia charitable organizations including the10thday, IUS, ManCom, Youth of England and Mohebban al Mahdi visited the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority and Chief Cleric of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalaey.

His eminence al-Karbalaey asserted on the unity of the Shias living in the West for introducing the real identity of the Shia sect through the different events and initiatives held across the European countries.

“The Shia society in the West has the bigger role of portraying to the world the events occurring in Iraq as Iraqis are sacrificing their lives not only for their country but for the entire world. Terrorism is a global threat to all ethnicities and nationalities. Every Muslim should sacrifice for his religion,” said Ayatollah Sistani’s representative at his office in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein.

Several humanitarian projects that serve the families of the martyred PMU volunteers were discussed in the meeting.

From his part, founder of IUS, Musa Naqvi stated that Hussein is for all humankind, thus, everyone should contribute to disseminate the teachings of the Master of Martyrs and to give back to those who sacrificed their lives for the Islamic religion, and this is the purpose of our visit.”

Tathir Ahmed, the10thday committee member, added, “It will be an honor for all the charitable organizations to come together and join efforts in sponsoring a humanitarian project in Iraq.”

It is noteworthy that the organizations hold various events, initiatives and campaigns all across the UK that aim to spread the peaceful message of Imam Hussein.
