Fifty metres from Bab al-Qibla al-Sughra is the site which marks the location where the left hand of Abbas was severed on theday of Ashura.

It consists of a blue dome placed over a grille. It is with grief that the visitor thinks of the scene of Ashura when he sees thesymbol of the hand fixed onto the top of the dome.

This place marks the exact location where the sacred left palm of al-Abbas was severed and fell to the ground.
