British journalist visits Iraq to reflect reality of the Iraq war to the West

British journalist Jack Merlin Watling is in Iraq to report on the current situations with the war against ISIS and the role of the holy shrines.

Watling was given a tour of the two holy shrines and conducted several interviews including with the Karbala commander of the Ali al-Akbar Brigade, Adel Jiyad, in which he emphasized on the peaceful coexistence between the Iraqi sects and their determination on eradicating their common enemy, ISIS.

Western media has not been too positive when referring to the Popular Mobilization Units, or the Hashd al-Shaabi, calling them militias and focusing on the war as being based on sectarian grounds. To solve this misinterpretation, it was up to the International Media of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine to invite prominent journalists in order to reflect the reality to the world.
