Al-Zahra Association of the Hussaiyni Processions in the Diwaniyah Province has started preparing the revival of the Hussaiyni rites through reenacting the tragedy of al-Taf for the first time in the holy land of Karbala on the 12th of Muharram 1439 AH.

The preparation was done with the presence of a delegation from the al-Abbas Holy Shrine, and the Islamic researcher Dr. Majid Faraj-Allah, where he presented a word highlighting the dimensions and values of the Husseini revivalism and how stood against injustice, tyranny and oppression.

Hajj Hadi Simran, head of the al-Zahra Association, stated, “The Association of al-Zahra is preparing to reenact the tragedy of al-Taf and embody the oppression done to Imam Hussein, his family and companions on the tenth of Muharram in the year 61 AH."

"The work has been ongoing for more than six months after taking the preliminary approvals from the province of Karbala and the Hussayni Processions Department, starting from equipping the tents to the metalwork and training cadres. We have been working in Ghammas city for more than fourteen consecutive years, and this year we thought to reenact the tragic scene in the holy land of Karbala, the land of purity, martyrdom and holiness," added Simran.

This year’s al-Taf Battle reenactment will take place on the Najaf - Karbala Road on the twelfth of Muharram.
