Amid an atmosphere of happiness, the inauguration ceremony of al-Ameed University, affiliated with the holy shrine of al-Abbas was held in the university’s central courtyard, in the presence of Chief Cleric Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, the Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdul-Razzaq al-Issa, as well as representatives of the local government.
The stately ceremony began with a recitation of verses of the Holy Quran followed by a welcoming speech by the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and after a statement from the Minister of the Higher Education and the Scientific Research Dr. Abd al-Razzaq al- Issa.
A documentary film about the establishment of the University was displayed.
The guests were taken on a tour around the university campus, laboratories and classrooms.
